Hi, I'm Virginia, a certified personal trainer and Precision Nutrition coach. I'm a wife and mom to four amazing boys and have an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Arlo. For the majority of my adult life, I have been captivated by the intricate connection between the body and the mind.
This fascination began with a simple exploration of healthy eating, which quickly unfolded into a long and wonderful journey through nutrition, fitness, and mindset. It is an honor to support women in their health journeys and celebrate their successes along the way!
My journey into the health and wellness space really began in 2005, when I read the book Fast Food Nation. It greatly shifted my perspective about the food we eat and thus we joke in my family that it began with peanut butter. JIF was quickly replaced with Laura Schudder's Natural Peanut Butter and the rest is history.
From my teen years into early adulthood, I struggled with poor body image and disordered eating. As I attempted to embrace nutritious eating, I couldn't find balance and my habits swung like a pendulum. And while I had always been physically active in my youth, maintaining consistent exercise became a significant hurdle once I started having children.
Shortly after the birth of my 4th son, I knew I had to make a change and make my health intentional, not a haphazard byproduct. I committed to HIIT training, which helped me build discipline and cardiovascular endurance. But as I progressed, my perspective shifted. I started looking past the sweat and began scrutinizing the logic behind the programming and the coaching methods being used.
This journey eventually led me to strength training, where a passion was ignited. I immersed myself in the science of exercise and nutrition, devouring books, articles, and insights from the field's most respected voices. I quickly realized how many myths were being passed off as fact and I became determined to dispel them.
In 2024, Salt Coaching was born. The Lord revealed to me that my training wasn't just for myself, but rather to steward the body he gave me. My desire is to glorify God by pouring the passion He gave me back into the lives of women, helping them cherish and care for their health.
"My promise to you is to keep learning and growing so I can always give you my best. You can trust that my coaching is built on what truly works, rather than what's popular right now."
